Which Chop Cutter is the Best?

Its difficult to say which is the best as it will depend on the product you are trying to dice and then finding the most appropriate machine.

The German manufacturers MHS & Treif machines both make excellent machines. Its just a case of matching the machine to your requirements.

How much does a Dicer Cost

The starting point is around £13,000 and they go up to over £50,000 for the biggest models

How often should I service my Chop Cutter?

We recommend a chop cutter should be serviced by a qualified technician every 4-6 months.

What size machine do I need?

It all depends on your production volume and what you intend to slice.

We always recommend future proofing your purchase by ensuring if you need to increase capacity you can do without needing a new machine.

Can I get a single phase machine?

No they are only available in 3 phase.

What are the most common product sliced?

The most common products sliced are meat (boneless and bone in), fish (boneless & bone in), cheese, bacon and sausage.

What is the biggest machine available?

The MHS Compact CSL is our biggest machine capable of making 800 slices a minute with a double blade.

What is the smallest machine available?

The MHS70-21KM is our smallest machine capable of 440 slices per minute with a double blade.

What is a Chop Cutter?

A chop cutter is a food processing machine that takes large products and pushes them through a rotating slicing blade (sickle) to create slices of uniform thickness.

Can you process frozen product?

Yes some models are able to slice frozen product but only down to about -4°C so the product generally needs to be tempered first.

What is the warranty?

It varies from each manufacturer but generally the industry standard is 12 months parts warranty.

We offer additional warranty cover to include labour and extensions over 12 months. Details of this will be included in any quote you receive from us.

What is Planned Preventative Maintenance?

Sometimes called service contracts our engineers will come and inspect your machine and conduct a service based on the manufacturers guidelines.

We change all wearable parts and these are designed to be changed regularly in order to protect the more expensive parts of the machine.

What are the most common faults?

9 times out of 10 most issues can be avoided if the operators change the blades more regularly.

Blunt blades mean the machine has to work harder to cut the meat through and this can cause unecessary wear on other moving parts.

Putting in prodcut that is also too cold is another issue we often see.

Water ingress is a common fault where plugs and buttons are jet sprayed.
